Shifu Wei Fo Jung, Master Instructor of Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy
“Practicing martial arts is never an easy thing to do because it requires a lot of time and effort. It is a hard path, but in the end you will see how much you have improved. You will not only improve your body and your fighting skills, you will have new life skills because martial arts is a lifestyle.
When I was training 6 to 8 hours a day it was really hard training. There were a lot of masters and coaches who pushed me and watched my moves to make sure that I did not make a mistake. They were so strict, not for a championship or a performance, but because I was the next person to pass down the traditions. It was very important that I did not make any mistakes because martial arts is not something you can create, it has history.
One important thing to learn in martial arts is to not give up. So many people right now like to give up on things quickly and that is not a good thing to do. Martial arts helped me understand that you can do anything as long as you do not give up.”
